I woke up on a cold September morning and at first it seemed like any other day.
But I had no idea at first of what my fate was bringing;
if I had I would have slept right through the day.
I must admit I should have seen it coming.
Looking back, this was a bed that I had made.
But now I’m up to my knees here in a pool of desperation,
with no sign of dry land that I can see.
